Awakenings

Awakenings- Movie which is one of those rare movies which holds a special position in our heart. I still remember the night when i saw this movie. We few friends got together in one of my friend's room who bought his new laptop. As the movie started there were few who were bored with those long conversation.

As the movie started moving, everyone's eyes were cemented onto the screen. Tears started
coming as soon as the movie reached the climax. After watching the movie, I was only thinking
about the way Awakenings was filmed and the performance of two legendary actors Robin Williams and Robert De niro.

The whole movie moves around Dr. Malcolm Sayer (Robin Williams) who is the newly appointed doctor at Bronx psychiatric hospital. Here he's put in charge of several seemingly catatonic patients who, under Sayer's guidance, begin responding to certain stimulati. Apprised of the efficacy of a new drug called L-DOPA in treating degenerative-disease victims, Sayer is given permission to test the drug on one of his patients: Leonard Lowe (Robert De Niro), who has not communicated with anyone since lapsing into catatonia as a child. Gradually, Lowe comes out of his shell, encouraging Sayers to administer L-DOPA to the other patients under his care.

But as the treatment of other patient starts, many shocking elements are waiting for Dr. Sayer. The story reaches its peak by taking some emotional drifts. What happened to Leonard Lowe and to the other patients of Bronx psychiatric hospital should remain a mystery as of now. To uncover this mystery, I'll suggest you to watch this highly acclaimed movie.

This movie is based on a true story which enhances the glory of this beautifully drilled screenplay. The movie has showcased the great work of the the director Penny Marshall.
The movie has also succeded in unfolding the acting of Robin Williams and Robert De niro.

Atlast, watch this beautiful movie and enjoy each and every scene of this movie. And pls come forward to place ur comments about this great movie.
