Citizen Kane

Citizen Kane has been lauded as the greatest motion picture to come out of America during the black & white era. The film budgeted $ 800,000 received unanimous critical praise even at the time of its release. This movie was released in 1941. The movie is known for good screenplay. The way the story moves is amazing. The movie is all about a business tycoon Charles Foster Kane. The last word that came out before his death was ‘ROSE BUD’.

Rose Bud becomes the elusive focal point for a plot framework for the movie. And like those shifting, sometimes inverted initial images each person reporter (William Alland) interviews provide a different perspective, a contrasting image of the same man- Charles Foster Kane.
Many critics believe that after this movie, the whole idea of camera positioning changed. There is alternate sequence of past & present, when the reporter starts his quest work to know the role of Rose Bud in Kane’s life. Orson Welles has tried to portray the publishing tycoon William Randolph Hearst through Kane. During the production time of the film William Randolph Hearst wielded his immense power, wealth & influences to destroy the film and Welles himself.
Some may find it difficult to see the old Black and white movie. But I must tell you that, don’t miss to watch this film. So, do watch this movie and please come forward to place your comments here.
Thank you.
